It’s
been said God is jealous. I’ve never
understood that, if only because there are so many other creations from which
God may derive satisfaction and pride if we are inattentive. But Jesus said that one of the two greatest
commandments is to love God with all our hearts, souls, minds and strength, and
this commandment cannot be ignored. Why
does He -- or She -- want this? One
reason is that God loves us that much. A second reason is that God, reflected in the
Inner Light we all share, knows that so loving Him will bring us pure joy.
