Recently,
I was given the opportunity to write a song.
It is for a children’s program.
It should be inspirational, though simple. I asked for God’s help and guidance as I
started to work on it and repeatedly during the hour and a half it took last
week to write. I sent it to the
composer. The composer called me. He had some praise and, not surprisingly,
some criticism. I shall have to work
harder. I see now that I not only may
ask God for more assistance: I need to do so. And I see that this is analogous to my
spiritual life and growth. I can move
along my path at a comfortable pace.
There’s nothing wrong with that.
But if I seek the deeper path, the farther goal, the greater service, I
had better be prepared to work beyond what’s comfortable.
