This
morning I ask God to help me tell when fear is more powerful in my life than
love. When do I avoid an act of love,
especially toward someone in need, not out of fatigue or lack of capacity but
out of fear of inadequacy, of rejection, of appearing the fool? Let me act out of love unconditionally,
without first making sure the response I get will be comfortable. Isn’t that the example set for us by Jesus
Christ, that God’s love in us allows us -- and asks us -- to conquer fear in
expressing love?
