June 13, 1993

June 13, 1993

Sometimes, when I think about my personal problems, I think, “Why is my path so difficult?”  Why are there so many brambles to cut away?  Why are there so many fearful times?  Why is there such slow progress?  Why are there so few signs or views, glimpses of the wider world, to confirm I’m going in the right direction?  Why is there such uncertainty as to my destination?

Then I realize that if the path were clear, well and recently trod upon, with markers, a certain destination, and quick and comfortable progress, it might be a fine path but it would be someone else’s path.  As long as I can follow the two most important Commandments [Luke 10:27], this will be my path and, like it or not, it will be a good one.
